Olympic Gold Medalist, Christie Rampone, is Spokesperson for K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital

ChristieRamponeK. Hovnanian Children's Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center is proud to partner with Christie Rampone. As the official spokesperson for the Children's Hospital, Christie takes time to visit the children on the pediatric floor, attend community events with Doctor Bernard, and speaks with children about the importance of exercise, safety, and healthy eating. After living in Monmouth and Ocean counties for most of her life, delivering both of her daughters at Jersey Shore. Christie has put her trust in the Children's Hospital and Jersey Shore University Medical Center.

At the event you can register for the Christie Rampone 2012 Soccer Camp (June 25- 28 or July 9-12) for a discounted rate of $195. The evening will also include opportunities to interact with Christie, get photos and autographs, play games, and receive valuable health information.

There will be special appearances by Doctor Bernard and Hopscotch throughout the night.

Christie Rampone is theCaptain of the U.S. Women’s National Team and is training for the 2012 Olympic Games in London.  Christie Rampone is recognized as the best defender in the world of women’ssoccer. With a decade and a half of experience under her belt, she has definedherself as the leader of the United States Women’s National Team, which remainsthe No.1 ranked team in the world. Christie is the ninth player in the Women’sNational Soccer Team’s 28-year history to be named the team captain. Herleadership has paid dividends as she guided her team to the Olympic Gold Medalin 2008 & the thrilling final of the 2011 Women’s World Cup. In addition, Christierecently earned her 243 cap and ranks fourth all time on the Women’s NationalSoccer Team behind only Julie Foudy, Mia Hamm and Kristine Lilly. Christiewas born in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1975, but grew up in Point Pleasant,New Jersey. As a senior at Point Pleasant Boro High School, she was namedNew Jersey High School Female Athlete of the Year. Christie is still heralded as oneof the finest athletes the state of New Jersey has ever produced. The Newark StarLedger ranked her No.4 in their Top 50 High School Athletes of the 20th Century.After being highly recruited by nearly every major college in the country, Christiechose to attend Monmouth University. At Monmouth, Christie excelled as athree-sport athlete competing in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. In both 1995and 1996, she was voted the consensus Northeast Conference Player of theYear and First Team All Mid-Atlantic Region. She led Monmouth to two NECchampionships, three ECAC Tournaments and finished her career as the school’sall-time leader in goals, assists, and points.
