Meridian Health Affiliated Foundations to hold 2010 Runway on the River

Highly anticipated fashion event to benefit K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital.

Neptune, NJ - The signature fund raising event for K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital, Runway on the River, is back for a second year. This unique event will take place on Saturday, May 22, with a high end fashion show featuring the styles of several of the area’s finest boutiques. This year’s event is chaired by Larson Whelan of Little Silver and co-chaired by Sorca Gill of Wall, with Lucy Kalian of Rumson, Maureen Lloyd of Oceanport, Anita Roselle of Long Branch, and Beth Stavola of Red Bank serving as honorary co-chairs.

The second annual Runway on the River will take place at the K. Hovnanian Enterprises Building in Red Bank at 7:00 p.m. Guests at this year’s event will enjoy an extravagant fashion show, a decadent cocktail reception, and 50/50 raffle chances. The exclusive list of stores showcasing their fashions include The Bee, Glow, Michael Duru, and The Couture Exchange. The fashion show will also feature celebrity designer Aysha Saeed who will provide a sneak peek at her fall looks.

An exciting live auction will take place and features a catering experience from Branches, golf package with rounds at the areas premium courses, a super shopping spree to premier stores, a children’s package with games and activities to keep kids active all summer, and jewelry from local boutiques Ballew and Bentley. Vacation packages will also be auctioned off and include an unparalled “Siesta in the Mexican Riviera Package” for 8 with a value of over $15,000, a week long Hawaiian Holiday for up to 4 in Princeville, Kauai, and a romantic couples one-week getaway in Hacienda del Mar resort in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

The evening will be hosted by Ernabel Demillo, formerly of “Good Day New York’’ on Fox 5, and her husband John Muller, lead Anchor of “PIX Morning News’’ on Channel 11, and will feature local celebrity model, Farley Boyle.

Funds raised at this year’s event will support continued improvements in the newly renovated pediatric inpatient unit and care for the children of our area.

"Runway on the River raises funds to ensure that the children of Monmouth and Ocean counties receive top-notch care,” says Boyle. “It’s so comforting to know K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital is right in our backyard.”
