Mary Ann Donohue Promoted to Vice President & Chief Nurse Executive At Jersey Shore University Medical Center


Neptune, NJ - Jersey Shore University Medical Center has announced the promotion of Mary Ann Donohue, Ph.D., RN, APN, NEA-BC, as Vice President and Chief Nurse Executive. 

In her role, Dr. Donohue will supervise a staff of over 700 and is responsible for leading efforts to build and strengthen the nursing team to ensure excellence in nursing care and customer satisfaction.  With more than 32 years of health care experience, Dr. Donohue previously served as vice president, Clinical Care Services at Jersey Shore University Medical Center.  Prior to joining Jersey Shore University Medical Center, Dr. Donohue was assistant vice president, Patient Care Services at Clara Maass Medical Center. 

Dr. Donohue is a member of several professional organizations including the American Organization of Nurse Executives, and currently president of the Institute for Nursing and president-elect of the New Jersey State Nurses Association.  She has also contributed to numerous nursing publications and consulted overseas in England and in Singapore.

Dr. Donohue received her Diploma in Nursing from Saint Francis Hospital School of Nursing; earned her B.S.N. from Jersey City State College; earned her M.A. from New York University; received her Ph.D. from Adelphi University; and completed her Post-Master’s Certificate from Columbia University.
