Jersey Shore University Medical Center Graduates 43 Residents

Neptune, NJ - Jersey Shore University Medical Center held its annual Resident Program graduation for 43 residents on Friday, June 17. Family and friends, fellow residents, physicians, and administration all came together in the Kurr Atrium of the medical center to witness the ceremony and to congratulate the graduates in Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Sports Medicine, and Dentistry.

"We are very impressed with this class of graduates," says Susan Rosenthal, M.D., MS, corporate director of Medical Education at Meridian Health. "These are outstanding physicians who will provide the best care to their patients. We are fortunate that several will be staying here on staff as attending physicians and hospitalists, while others are going into primary care or continuing their training in fellowship programs."

Graduating pediatric residents will be commencing fellowship training at institutions such as Cleveland Clinic, Rainbow Babies Hospital in Cleveland, Miami Children's Hospital, and Children's Hospital of Alabama. Five internal medicine residents will continue their training at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in fields such as radiation oncology, hematology/oncology, infectious diseases, radiology and neurology, and the remainder will be completing prestigious fellowships across the country.

In June, Jersey University Medical Center will welcome 36 new residents. As a teaching facility, Jersey Shore currently has five accredited physician residency programs including General Dentistry, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Sports Medicine.
