Nephrology

About Our Nephrology Services

Most parents know what the kidneys are, but many don't realize the important role they play in a child's development.

Kidneys help regulate blood pressure, remove waste products and extra water from the blood, and balance one's salt and potassium levels. They also make hormones which help your child's bones grow and keep your blood healthy by making new red blood cells.

Luckily it's not very common for a child to have problems with their kidneys and related urinary tract. But, when they do, you can see how important it is to get expert help.

Our Pediatric Nephrology Division offers consultation, diagnostics, and treatment for children with disorders of the kidney and urinary tract, including hypertension. Our services are provided by pediatric nephrologists from Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center, an affiliation that allows K. Hovnanian Children's Hospital to supplement our own brand of exceptional care with the latest and most advanced treatment options in nephrology right here in Monmouth County.
