UPON YOUR ARRIVAL

Treating pain is one of our top priorities. Our team will quickly assess your child upon arrival. This process allows our clinical teams to understand the severity of the condition and treat those children with the most serious condition first. We will take your child's temperature, blood pressure and vital signs in order to better understand their condition.

WHILE YOU WAIT

We know that waiting is never fun; especially under these circumstances. We know you're anxious. We will see you as soon as possible keeping your comfort and anxiety in mind.

REGISTRATION

In order to take care of your child properly, we will need you to register and create a record of your visit. We need to document why you're visiting us and take note of your insurance information. This may be taken at the registration desk upon arrival or at the bedside.

THE DOCTOR IS IN

When you and your child are taken to the exam room, rest assured you are in good hands. Our specially trained pediatric team will explain what is going on and what to expect so you and your family fully understands the current condition and next steps. If a translator is needed, we will assist with that as well. Our certified teams strive to reduce anxiety by ensuring that your family understands how and why the medical team is taking care of your child. Our teams may use toys, books, games, or electronics to help calm or distract children during procedures so your child receives the treatment needed during a highly stressful and anxious time.

CHILD LIFE SPECIALISTS

A hospital stay is an intimidating experience, especially for children and their families. Our team creates a positive experience to reduce the stress and anxiety related to the hospital experience while promoting positive coping and optimal development.
