LOCAL MOTORCYCLE CLUB DONATES GIFTS TO PEDIATRIC PATIENTS

Off Da Hook Motorcycle Club of Neptune donated gifts to the patients at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital at Jersey Shore University Medical Center

Neptune, NJ - This holiday season, The Off Da Hook Motorcycle Club of Neptune donated numerous dvd’s and PlayStation games to the patients at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital, Neptune. The Motorcycle Club has been generously donating gifts to the Children’s Hospital for the past three years.

The Motorcycle Club became incorporated in 1994 and has twenty-five members who either have a love for motorcycles or are committed to helping the community. Just this year, the Club has hosted a coat drive in Asbury Park, Easter Egg Hunt at Shark River, and a Fun Day for the Children at Shark River Park.

Tawanda Cooper, secretary of The Off Da Hook Motorcycle Club, organized the toy drive. “Knowing you’re helping a child who isn’t feeling well smile this holiday season really makes the toy drive worth it,” she explained. In addition, Tawanda had a terminally ill family member spend time on the floor, and knew how receiving a gift would have brightened his day.

Nine people from the Motorcycle club participated in the toy drive and delivered the gifts last weekend.

“We are really grateful for all of the community organizations that host toy drives and donate gifts to K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital,” explained Michele Taylor, recreation therapist at the hospital. “The Off Da Hook Motorcycle Club is a great community partner to have. We are thankful for their dedication to the patients every year.”
