The Journey to Motherhood: A Special Bond Between Patient and Doctor
Riverview Medical Center's expert team of physicians is about more than just keeping you healthy — they're also about building relationships that will last a lifetime.

"Throughout her life, every woman should expect a health care relationship she can count on."

Virtually every woman would agree with Marilyn Loh Collado, M.D., a board certified OB/GYN affiliated with Riverview Medical Center. However, not every woman is fortunate enough to find this type of relationship with her doctor.

Care Through Every Stage of Life
For patients like Meg Brennan of Shark River Hills, Dr. Loh Collado's approach to patient care has made all the difference.

"I would follow Dr. Loh Collado to the ends of the earth," says Meg. "I have been her patient since I was 16 years old. She has seen me through some very tough moments to two of the happiest moments of my life."

Meg is referring to the birth of her two children, John Peter (J.P.) and Mairead — both born under Dr. Loh Collado's expert care at Riverview Medical Center. For Meg it was a bit of a tough road to motherhood, and she admits that it would have been much more difficult without Dr. Loh Collado..

"I don't know how to explain how important she has been in my life," continues Meg. "From the stress of trying to get pregnant, to the stress of becoming a new mother, to the stress of becoming a mother of ‘two under two,' I have always been able to count on her to understand my physical and emotional needs. She's just amazing!"

Team Care Benefits Patients
Dr. Loh Collado, chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Riverview Medical Center, feels equally fortunate. "At Riverview, I work with the most accomplished, expert OB/GYNs in the region," she says. "We work together as a team, and we support each other. Because of that, we're able to provide the absolute best coverage for all of our patients."

Dr. Loh Collado is referring to the Laborist Team, which shares Dr. Loh Collado's philosophy. Take Dana Jacoby, M.D., for example.

"Each of my patients goes through a unique journey to motherhood," explains Dr. Jacoby, a board certified OB/GYN affiliated with Riverview. "It's my job to provide the best medical care and advice so all patients feel supported and cared for every step of the way."

Suzanne Sutton of Oakhurst recalls, "I came to Dr. Jacoby after losing my first son during the 38th week of pregnancy. From

this first meeting, it was clear that Dr. Jacoby is very knowledgeable and takes time to work with each patient and understand the unique issues that arise in each pregnancy."

Every Step of the Way
Suzanne became pregnant soon after becoming Dr. Jacoby's patient. She recalls the 37 weeks between the conception and delivery of son Zachary as some the most trying weeks of her life. However, she credits Dr. Jacoby with getting her through them.

"He was available any time I called. He often called to see how I was doing, and he followed up with me after my visits with the highrisk specialists," explains Suzanne. "Zachary is the love of my life. I have Dr. Jacoby to thank for getting me through the pregnancy, guarding my health, and bringing him safely into this world."
